DAKU's Shadow Installation

For St+art Goa 2018, anonymous Indian street artist DAKU created a temporary installation, set up in the middle of a street in Panjim. Made up of an extensive panel with fishing nets, the installation played with text and shadows to reinstate the notion of 'Time' being ephemeral.

Daku's installation came to life on the 31st January Road in Panjim, Goa.

Creating a canopy that gave life to shadows as the sun went up on the warm streets of Panjim, it invited pedestrians to walk underneath a fishnet with inverted words attached on top, which cast shadows on the cground. The text alluded to the transient nature of time, with the phrases - Time works wonders. Time moves. Time flies over us, but leaves its shadow behind. Time fades. Time is an illusion.
