Govindpuri Metro Station - first Art Station

The 'Art Stations project' is a project that transforms transit spaces into walk through galleries for the public. In January 2016, St+art collaborated with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to create the first ‘Art Station’ of Delhi - the Govindpuri metro station. Rome-based artist Augustino Iacurci, who paints figurative characters in bold and solid colours, painted the façade of the station. He was assisted by students of GD Goenka University.

Art Stations - BMRC Stations

As an extension of our ‘Art Stations’ project, three metro stations - Majestic, Church Street and Cubbon Park, were chosen for art interventions during St+art Bengaluru 2016. Done in collaboration with the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation (BMRC), the artworks tried to encapsulate the spirit of Bengaluru. The paintings placed special emphasis on local environments and the narratives amidst which the metro stations were located.

Art Station at Arjan Garh Metro Station

In 2017, the Arjan Garh metro station became the second Art Station in the city of New Delhi. The 'Art Stations’ project is an endeavour to transform transit spaces into walk-through galleries for the public. Done in collaboration with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the project is an opportunity to offer road and metro commuters of Delhi a cultural experience through murals in a democratic and accessible way.
